Count Lothar Moira was already part of a declining nobility before the fall of the Empire. With Etera rebuilding and the land in Chaos, the straight laced nobleman with nothing to lose and a midlife crisis joins the ranks of adventuring to reach new heights, both as a challenge to himself and to lead by example.

History[]

House Moira[]

House Moira gained its claim to fame for its devotion to Aroden and the fact every firstborn of the bloodline have the strange quirk of all being Male Aasimars, which was seen as a blessing of the Human God himself. They integrated themselves quite well into the Empire as a result, supplying exotic supplies to the Church of Aroden while collecting tithes on its behalf. This lasted until the sudden disappearance of Aroden, during which the family wealth quickly eroded, and the 'blessing' of the family gone, broken by the birth of a female Tiefling to the then Patriarch of the family on the same day Aroden disappeared.

Soon, the Moira name had little to no weight, and they clung to their titles and land with teeth and claws, falling deep into debt to prove loyalty to the Empire. The dissolution of the Empire couldn't come at a better time for the family, as they were on the edge of being stripped of their titles. Nowadays, they survive by employing mercenaries on their behalf to terrorize serfs, as well as by selling Arodenite relics to curious adventurers.

Of course, not all members of this family are despicable and beyond redemption. Count Lothar was the second child of his father, his older sibling a female Tiefling, and he was more than happy to let her inherit their title as he would enjoy a cushy pen-pushing job in the Empire's military. Fate would have it otherwise, as the rebellions claimed both his father and sister's lives during an uprising, leaving him the sole inheritor.

After The Empire[]

Count Lothar had to assume his position in the midst of chaos, and though he had no particular talents or powers, his aristocratic upbringing allowed him to serve satisfyingly in his county, keeping most of the population fed in the time of crisis. An Abadarite, his strong sense of justice gave him some delusions of grandeur, especially with the tale of heroes rising from nothing and becoming great warriors. What would stop him from becoming one of them?

And so the man now takes to the countryside to deliver justice his own way, with the hopes that anyone can be a hero, even a noble aristocrat suffering through their midlife crisis.

Other Information[]

 Personality[]

Though many may think that he is yet just another ambitious nobleman hungry for power (and they wouldn't be entirely wrong), Lothar has a strong sense of justice as well of right and wrong. He firmly believes in due process, and will stand for anyone's rights, no matter their standing, even those of his enemies. He is also not the wisest man, as despite his views, he can be rash, impulsive and eerily stubborn. When made a friend of, however, he is loyal to the end. He also tends to overestimate his own abilities, believing himself to be on par with any warrior despite his lack of proper training.

 Physique[]

The one blessing the man has is his prodigious strength. Even in his aging, he could still teach younglings a lesson or two, even if he lacks any technique or finesse. He has sharp, chiseled features and a smile that could be best described as gorgeous. A scar from his childhood across his eye gives him a rather suave look, and his hair is kept relatively short, greying in certain spots.

Contacts[]

Moira family: Once much more powerful in the grand scheme of Etera, the chaos since the death of Aroden has relegated the vast majority of them to courtiers and knights of landed nobility. This means that they themselves may not have the best of ressources, but that they are in a position to acquire aid should need come.
